This morning Griffin asks me "Mom, do you think that there is any chance of me getting coal in my stocking?" not a chance, buddy.

He writes.

How can he sleep with them all watching him??

I only wish that I could draw like this. Completely free and imaginative. I love his creatures!

It appears I am quite adept at making my kid cry.

I got my hair cut on Thursday. I decided to go short. REALLY short. Then I went to pick up Griffin. He sobbed all the way to Safeway. He asked people in the store if they liked my hair- they did. He did not agree with them.

Here are some comments from my son:

"I will only look at your face, not your hair."
"Mamas don't have hair like THAT."
"When we get home you are going to BRUSH your hair."
"Hello, Miss I don't like your hair."
"Look at that lady with the wild hair!" (spoken while sitting in the car with my friend and viewing me through the window.)
"aren't you going to wash your hair??" (Friday morning)

Ya know, I am not sure if I even want to post a picture of the new "do". I had no idea he even had any interest in my hair. I guess I was wrong! I can't believe that I got this picture of me with Griffin in the background making the face. Priceless.

I thought that I would try a short little movie- hope you like it!

I took the day off today and I got to take my kid to school. I usually have to

leave before he goes to school, so this is a big treat for me. I can't believe how fast he is growing and how much he is learning. That's his friend, Ceres, on his left. She tells him that he needs to learn some manners. Thanks, Ceres.
We went on a little mini trip to Seligman, Az right smack dab on historic route 66. (Yes, we got our kicks) We ate at places with names such as Westside Lilos and The Roadkill Cafe. Makes your mouth water, doesn't it! We spent the first night in a KOA Kabin, (yes, that is how it is really spelled) and the second night at the Canyon Lodge. Both nights were a lot of fun but Seligman is seriously lacking for good coffee. Hello, I need Espresso! Griffin of course had a fabulous time with Grandpop the gold hunter and at the Deer Farm, too.

First wiggly tooth- it's a big day at our house!

Got blood?

It just would not be fall without a visit to the pumpkin patch! Griff is totally into Halloween and usually has two different costumes- not really sure how that happens, but it does. We went down to Amado to our favorite lovely little farm. They have a little store, grass-fed angus burgers, a petting zoo with pushy goats and pony rides- not to mention a hay maze and rope swings. Griff was insistent on finding the perfect pumpkin. Subsequently, we left the field empty handed, but at .50 per lb, I knew I could do better at the grocery store. It was a wonderful day.

Griffin had been looking forward to his birthday for MONTHS. I finally relented and agreed to Chuck E. Cheese this year. I have to admit, it was pretty simple- just open up your wallet and say ahhhh- or actually, OUCH!. He was the best little host and he could not have had a better time. Priceless. He picked the birthday outfit himself- so cute!

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. Griffin starting kindergarten was not the magical time that I had envisioned. Apparently, he's a talker. Apparently they frown on that in kindergarten. I can't imagine where he came by this trait. He has learned the ropes and is now doing great after his bumpy start. And actually, despite the tears (Mom) and butterflies (Mom again) the first day was truly magical.
